Well my fingertips hurt thats for sure :P Still learning how to strum properly, and pick the strings right. But I am getting the hang of it. I am basically focusing this week on the First String, notes E F and G. So far I know where the notes are on the string, and I am trying to make sure I can pinpoint them on sheet music. But I shall perservere! I messed around with Overdrive last night...wow that sounds angry.

Also, I think I am gonna have problems doing chords, at least until I get some callouses. Only reason is I have huge freakin fingers :P And the upper strings are close together. I think maybe the callouses will help my fingers get a more defined point...I hope :P Either that or I will have to figure out how to make sure my fingers dont hit more then the 1 string 0_0

Ah well, one step at a time. I am sure after practicing the first 3 strings I will have a nice set of callouses...given how much my fingers hurt last night while playing for my 30 minutes. I need to stop trying to go faster though, I really do. I find myself subconciously speeding my picking up, and I start to mess up with stuff I am trying to play. Bah. BAH I SAY! Ah well. I think I am doing ok. I figure by the end of the week I should have gotten the hang of where the notes appear on music, and which note is which. I hope to also have gotten my picking under control. It shouldnt be TOO much of a big deal. If it takes me 2 weeks to get the hang of things then it takes 2 weeks. *shrug* I will take my time :)

In other news... Well, I though the newest Harry Potter movie was meh. I dont care what any of you say, I hate when they chop huge chunks outta things, and alter things. I feel that if you have not read the book, you wont get the movie. Thats how it was to me.

I am waiting for the Deathly Hallows to come out though. I intend to get my own copy, and spend most of Saturday Night / Sunday reading it. I do hope that Harry dies, and maybe Hermione too...

So, I have decided that I am going to post things regarding my progress with my guitar, which I got Sunday. Its a very nice guitar, and it was really easy to tune :)

I have learned the E, F, and G on the 1st string (string closest to the ground when you hold the guitar). Thats Open, First Fret, Third Fret! :D Gonna practice till I get good at both sounding those notes and remembering where they are. My goal this week is to practice at least 30 minutes a night on the excerises in the book I have with those three notes.

I really liked playing with my guitar. It was fun, making the strange noises that I made :P I also learned a basic A chord. It was... 2nd fret on the 3rd string, 3rd fret on the 2nd string, and 2nd fret on the 1st string, sound only the last 4 strings, skipping the 5th and 6th string. Sounds kinda neat it did :P

I need to get a set of headphones though, cause my poor wife commenting got a headache from me and my friend playing. Gonna play in the bedroom so I dont hurt her.

Anyway, this is my first entry, expect more, at least once a week, if not more often. Trying to keep track of how I am doing :)
