The reason why no one was injured? Cause there was no one in the actual SUV. It was strange. I saw this news story on TV this morning while waiting for my wife to get ready for work. It was odd, I admit, seeing this and going "Now who is gonna park on Train Tracks?!"

There was no body, nothing. It was as if it was simply abandoned. Now, I have no idea what the police think, but I personally doubt someone is gonna leave a really nice SUV on some train tracks to get crushed by a freakin freight train! It just doesn't make sense to me at all.

Really? Could you think of ANY logical reason to leave an empty SUV on some train tracks? Apparently no one has claimed this thing, and a K9 unit didnt find any tracks or smells.

Strange stuff if you ask me.

Seriously, who in their right mind would decide to take a nap on a set of train tracks? I know I wouldn't, but then again I AM in my right mind. Today, a man was killed by falling asleep on some train tracks and getting hit by a train. Gee, a train barreling down some tracks... such a suprise!

Now, I am not saying that this is not a sad event, because it is. But people, get some sleep! There is no reason to NOT get enough sleep. If your sleep is suffering to the point where you are having issues staying awake while driving then get some help! Somehow!

Now, here is the interesting bit, at least to me. Everyone who owns a car knows that unless your foot is on the brake its gonna move forward, even at a slow pace (idling). So, in order for this car to fully stop on the tracks the man would have had to literally take his foot off the gas. For all we know, he might have wanted to suicide. Who knows?

Hopefully more information will become available soon regarding this strange and horrible event.

Apparently, a woman by the name of Jammie Thomas has recently been found guilty of illegal downloading, and was ordered by a judge to pay $220,000 in damages spread across 6 different companies (Original Story Found Here).

Now, what makes this interesting is, according to that article, its over a grand total of 24 songs. 24... *does some quick math* Thats $9166.66 per SONG?! Thats a wee bit much I think. Its kinda crazy. The lady is apparently going to appeal the decision, and this looks like its going to be a long legal battle.

Now, I will admit that I have downloaded things in the past for free. I think everyone has at some point. Now a days though I can if possible pay for it, like my recently purchased tracks by Tantric. Sometimes, its hard to find what you are after though. I think its time the record labels got with the times. People want to download music. What I would like to see personally is the ability to go online to the record label's websites, and purchase the songs for like 99 cents from them directly. Or the artists.

I dont want to see the artists not make any money but at the same token most songs can be found online. There is no real way to fully crush file sharing at this stage of the game.

What do you think?

I am gonna go on a bit of a rant here. As some of you may know (if you watch CNN at least) we have been having a slew of recalls for products made in China. Generally, this has been due to lead in the paint of said products, and the news media seems to be blaming this on China's apparent pathetic standards and practices, and is also decrying our Consumer Safety and Importing groups for not catching this.

Now, I agree that lead paint on small child toys is dangerous, and those products should indeed be recalled...

But for the love of all that is holy STOP CALLIN IT COMMUNIST CHINA!

Every time CNN talks about these recalls, its always "*blank product* made in COMMUNIST CHINA has been recalled!"

Is there another China that I am unaware of? Has a Libertarian China or perhaps Republican China magically appeared? Or maybe a Sexy China? Perhaps a Gold Encrusted China? Its China, we know its communist, there is no reason to repeatedly drive that point home. In fact, after watching a few of these recalls, all I can even remember is Lead Paint and COMMUNIST CHINA! Thats how often they repeat that nonsense.

Also, one thing that really ticked me off was the recall of a playpen. The company in question (who escapes me) stated that the recall was due to a Lethal Design Flaw. That means that the company stupidly designed the damn thing so it killed babies.

But because it was made in COMMUNIST CHINA! its obviously COMMUNIST CHINA'S! fault.

Seriously, that is how the news story went 0_0

I HATE THE NEWS SOMETIMES ARG!
